The University of Valley Forge invites applicants for the position of
Director of Financial Services . The Director leads the Financial Services Department, including training and developing team members to deliver consistent compliance and high satisfaction in both financial aid and student billing.
Oversee the daily operation of the Financial Services Offices, managing staff such as Financial Services Counselors, Graduate Assistants, and Student Workers.
Coordinate deadlines for tasks and projects, ensuring their completion.
Conduct weekly one-on-one sessions with Financial Services Counselors to review student concerns and performance issues.
Lead weekly departmental meetings.
Manage financial aid drawdown and student account applications for federal, state, and private loans, including external and institutional scholarships.
Oversee Title IV Aid administration in coordination with third-party servicers, ensuring compliance, verification, disbursements, and aid return processes.
Lead strategic planning and develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for departmental objectives.
Reconcile student account balances and federal/state funds with records.
Manage student accounts receivable, invoicing, and collections processes.
Assist with challenging student cases and department complaints.
Represent the department at university events and oversee staff training and professional development.
Coordinate with other departments on systems, processes, and reporting.
Prepare data for internal and external reports, including IPEDS, NCAA, FISAP, USNWR, College Board Big Futures, and Common Data Set.
Administer state grants for reciprocity states.
Lead financial data preparation for annual 1098-T generation.
Participate in committees such as Satisfactory Academic Progress and Donor Scholarship.
Oversee federal, state, and independent audits related to Financial Services.
Serve as the primary contact for Department of Education FSA access and manage SAIG Gateway.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the Financial Services Office, including HEERF administration and reporting.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Meet weekly with the Director and attend Admissions team meetings.
Represent the university at off-campus recruiting events.
Assist with mailings and marketing campaigns.
Collaborate across departments to support students.
Attend all staff training events.
The work environment involves typical office conditions, primarily sitting, with occasional standing, walking, and lifting of small objects.
Spiritual Requirements All employees must be openly committed followers of Christ and sign the UVF Community Covenant.
Qualifications and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 5 years of financial aid experience.
High-energy, detail-oriented, organized individual.
Affirmation of the university’s doctrinal position consistent with the Assemblies of God.
Skills and Knowledge
Thorough understanding of federal and state financial aid regulations.
Technological proficiency with financial aid and billing software.
Customer service and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of PowerFAIDS and Jenzabar is a plus.
Understanding of academic modules and Pell Grant Formula 3 is advantageous.
