Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a dynamic team in the manufacturing apparel industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of the unique financial needs and challenges within the apparel manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities
Process and manage accounts payable transactions, including the coding, entering, and reconciling of invoices
Match purchase orders with invoices and ensure accuracy in pricing, quantities, and terms
Prepare and execute payments via checks, ACH, or wire transfers in a timely manner
Handle vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies related to invoices or payments
Assist with month-end closing activities, including the reconciliation of AP sub-ledger to the general ledger
Maintain and organize financial documents and records for audit purposes
Collaborate with internal departments, such as procurement and inventory, to ensure proper documentation and approval of expenses
Monitor and report on key metrics related to accounts payable, such as aging reports and cash flow projections
Support the finance team with special projects and process improvements as needed
Requirements
3+ years of experience in accounts payable, with a focus on manufacturing and/or apparel industry Strong understanding of the manufacturing process and its impact on accounts payable Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (experience with [insert specific software] is a plus) Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and colleagues Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices Why Join Us?
