Responsible for accounting practices, financial controls (budgets), cost, and general accounting for the Company.## General ResponsibilitiesThe Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of corporate accounting, financial reporting, and the application of internal control policies and procedures. This role ensures compliance with Marmon Standard Practice Instructions (as they relate to accounting principle and processes).
This role supports strategic decision-making through accurate financial analysis and reporting and is a key role in budget and forecast preparation.
The Controller reports to the Vice President of Finance and has direct reports:
accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory and fixed asset accounting.## Key Responsibilities* Lead the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, and adjustments.* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with supporting schedules.* Maintain SOX-compliant financial documentation and ensure accuracy across all reporting.* Oversee reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.* Manage capital asset accounting, including additions, transfers, and disposals.* Supervise accounting staff and oversee daily operations of accounts payable, purchase card systems, expense reporting, accounts receivable, and inventory transactions.* Support budgeting and forecasting activities.* Ensure proper coding and classification of revenues and expenditures.* Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and procedures.* Deliver responsive service to internal and external stakeholders by addressing inquiries and ensuring timely resolution.* Develop and coach the accounting staff for growth.## Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or advanced degree strongly preferred.* 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.* Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.## Skills and Competencies* Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate accounting principles.* Proficient in financial analysis, data interpretation, and problem-solving.* High attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with OneStream is a plus.* Capable of defining problems, collecting data, and drawing valid conclusions.Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.We are an equal opportunity employer, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to their membership in any protected class.
