Description of Position The Controller will be responsible for the accounting operations of TEC. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk for the company. Additionally, the Controller will analyze cost structures, provide financial insights, and contribute to strategic decision-making for the company. Job Duties & Responsibilities Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk

Manage the selection, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s accounting systems as necessary

Monitor equipment utilization, track rental revenue, manage inventory, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and collaborate with other departments to optimize business performance

Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles

Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance

Produce the annual budget and forecasts; report significant budget differences to management

Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations

Oversee employee training programs and identify developmental needs within the accounting team; ensure cross-training of critical capabilities

Maintain and foster relationships with external stakeholders such as third party accountants or auditors, financial institutions, and insurance companies

Work with external auditors and provide needed information for the annual audit

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements

Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

Qualifications Requirements of the Position Education & Certification –

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration; Certified Public Accountant designation strongly preferred

Recommended Work Experience –

5-7 years ofmanagerial experience infinance or accounting fields, preferably in retail/rental equipment or construction industries; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and accounting software; Experience using RentalMan, or similar rental equipment industry software a plus, but not required

Physical Demands –

Prolonged sitting, standing, climbing, bending, lifting, keying, reaching, grasping, reading, speaking, and listening

Working Conditions –

Work from designated space within TEC corporate office(s) required daily; Occasional, local, and regional travel to external meetings and functions and project sites as required; Potential work outside normal business hours
