Overview The

Generation Wild of the Pikes Peak Coalition Coordinator

will coordinate the

Generation Wild of the Pikes Peak Region

(GenWild PPR) Coalition, a dynamic, community-centered coalition of ten organizations aimed at connecting underserved youth in Colorado Springs with the outdoors. This position will be an employee of Catamount Institute, the Capacity Holder/Backbone Organization for the GenWild PPR grant. This position will lead the coalition’s strategic coordination, financial oversight, communications, community engagement, and capacity building. This is a special, at-will, term-limited grant funded position funded by Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO). Current grant funding for this position runs through 2030. Follow-up grant funding is possible.

Key Responsibilities 1. Coalition Leadership & Community Engagement

Serve as the lead coordinator of the Generation Wild of the Pikes Peak Region Coalition.

Establish and build strong relationships with coalition members, community leaders, local municipalities, and families. Facilitate community and youth advisory meetings as the groups are developed.

Support development of annual goals and deliverables based on the adopted strategic plan with the GenWild PPR Coalition and steering committee.

Organize and lead quarterly in-person coalition meetings and monthly steering committee meetings.

Develop, maintain and circulate a calendar of GenWild PPR community engagement events, campaigns, and activities.

Represent GenWild PPR at Generation Wild events, other community events, and coalition member events to promote and elevate coalition impact.

Conduct community listening sessions to identify community needs and utilize findings to guide coalition strategies.

Collaborate with the Executive Director and Steering Committee to monitor progress and align efforts with community, organizational and grant goals.

Facilitate

community-driven program and pathways proposal processes

annually, ensuring funding decisions reflect community voice and youth leadership.

Support implementation of coalition governance infrastructure, including onboarding processes, MOUs, conflict resolution protocols, and succession planning.

2. Financial Oversight & Reporting

Lead yearly community-led process for allocating program and pathways funding from the Community Collaborative Program fund and the pathways budget.

Manage GenWild PPR grant with transparency and accountability.

Track and report monthly expenditures for Catamount Institute and the GenWild PPR coalition partners to the Fiscal Sponsor.

Submit monthly reimbursement requests and maintain accurate financial documentation in coordination with Catamount Institute’s accounting team.

Ensure there is a financial spend-down process to ensure full fund utilization by grant deadline.

Comply with GOCO budgetary guidelines and programmatic expectations.

3. Communication & Marketing

Lead all communication and marketing efforts for the Gen Wild PPR Coalition.

Develop and implement a robust annual communication plan targeting youth, families, educators, and stakeholders.

Create, maintain, and share with coalition members a content calendar and regular social media posts and campaign updates; regularly update coalition members with website updates, newsletters, and storytelling efforts that demonstrate the coalition's impact on youth.

Coordinate branding efforts and work with GOCO and local partners to expand program visibility. Represent GenWild PPR Coalition at key conferences and meetings.

Explore alternative marketing and communication avenues and expertise from coalition members.

4. Fundraising & Sustainability (Year 2 and Beyond)

Work with coalition members and steering committee to develop and execute a fundraising plan to sustain and expand coalition activities (Year 2 and beyond).

Identify new funding sources and grant opportunities in coordination with Catamount Institute leadership and GenWild PPR coalition members.

Support preparation and submission of future Generation Wild grant applications and related proposals.

Identify additional funding sources and support the development of collaborative proposals to sustain GenWild PPR beyond the 2026–2030 grant cycle.

5. Strategic Planning, Capacity Building & Evaluation

Lead implementation of priority action items outlined in the most recent strategic plan with Steering Committee support. Implement priority action items from the GenWild PPR 2026–2030 strategic plan and guide collective progress tracking.

Track program participation data and evaluate overall impact in alignment with GOCO goals.

Prepare progress and outcome reports for grant compliance and future planning.

Support development and adoption of processes for member accountability, coalition evaluation, and feedback collection.

Expected Deliverables

Successful execution of annual plan of top coalition goals and deliverables

Monthly and quarterly financial and program reports

Communication plan, content calendar, and marketing materials (creation and maintenance)

Community event calendar and engagement reports (creation and maintenance)

Quarterly grant progress reports and final program summary to ensure full fund utilization by working with fiscal sponsor in development of expenditure process.

Yearly program and pathways budgets developed and approved through a community-driven process.
