Job Description Pay Range: $60hr - $65hr

The Windows Server & Active Directory Administrator will participate in planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining on-premises and Azure Active Directory environments.

The role involves managing server hosting, group policies, identity and access management, security compliance, automation, and supporting cross-functional IT infrastructure projects.

The candidate will coordinate with IT management, contract staff, and enterprise IT teams to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant system operations.

Requirement/Must Have

Administer and support on-premises Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, including hybrid integrations and synchronization.

Review, clean up, and redesign Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security settings and standardized configurations.

Troubleshoot GPO-related issues and ensure proper policy application.

Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation tools for administrative tasks.

Perform user, group, and permissions management, including access control and role-based security enforcement.

Monitor Active Directory health and replication; proactively resolve directory service issues.

Ensure compliance with IT security policies and standards such as CIS and NIST.

Implement and monitor access controls, security baselines, and audit logs for risk management.

Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address vulnerabilities, incidents, and improve security posture.

Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex technical issues affecting identity, access, or authentication.

Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, and upgrades, including cloud integration and modernization initiatives.

Work independently with limited supervision, providing clear technical documentation and lifecycle planning.

Experience

3–5 years of experience with Windows Server administration and support.

3–5 years of experience with Group Policy (GPO) and PowerShell scripting.

3–5 years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Active Directory (on‑premises and Azure AD).

Experience with Citrix Presentation Server or XenApp environments.

Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery processes.

Advanced knowledge of computer and network hardware, software, and operating systems.

Experience with security and data classification standards (CDC, HIPAA, CJIS).

Experience designing and implementing enterprise‑level system architectures.

Responsibilities

Participate in server hosting planning, design, installation, configuration, and migration projects.

Coordinate with IT management, contract staff, and enterprise computing services staff.

Ensure assignments are completed accurately, on‑time, and escalate issues when necessary.

Advise staff on hardware configurations and implementations, troubleshoot systems, and support conversion to segmented frameworks.

Maintain compliance with IT standards, policies, and security procedures.

Administer, monitor, and maintain Active Directory and Azure AD environments.

Develop automation scripts to standardize administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Support cross‑functional infrastructure projects and provide Tier 3 technical support.

Skills

Windows Server administration and support.

Active Directory and Azure AD management, including hybrid environments.

Group Policy (GPO) design, troubleshooting, and standardization.

PowerShell scripting and automation.

Citrix Presentation Server/XenApp experience.

Enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and IT security compliance knowledge.

Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Familiarity with cloud virtualization, endpoint management (Intune/Quest KACE), and AI‑driven infrastructure optimization (preferred).

Qualification And Education

Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of equivalent experience.

Network certification (e.g., Network+, CCNA) preferred.

Experience with Microsoft Intune, Linux server administration, or enterprise SAN/NAS (preferred).
