Service Technician (Machine Tools) - CT
Position Summary:
The Service Technician is a full-time, hands-on technical expert responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC machines and related equipment, including electrical, fluid, and mechanical systems. The role involves interpreting schematics, aligning machinery, troubleshooting complex servo-activated systems, and training junior technicians. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, proficiency with engineering tools and blueprints, and a solid foundation in both mechanical and electrical principles. The position also requires flexibility to travel to client locations, perform acceptance testing, and provide customer training to ensure high satisfaction and optimal equipment performance.

Full Time - Hourly Key Responsibilities: Interpret electrical and fluid schematics accurately Troubleshoot fluid and electrical servo-activated systems Align CNC machines geometrically and perform calibration Repair mechanical components such as spindle units, gearboxes, and other parts Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in closed and open loop axes control Perform CNC geometry and positioning axis compensation Train and mentor junior Service Engineers Advise management on customer satisfaction, product performance, and improvement suggestions Use positioning, straightness, and geometry measuring lasers effectively Set up and troubleshoot 5-axis Traori systems Manage automatic tool changers and tool management setup Conduct acceptance tests with customers Provide maintenance training for customers Qualifications: Ability to handle difficult and demanding customer situations Willingness to travel internationally to remote locations Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with PCs, software applications, reading engineering blueprints, and using hand tools Minimum 4 years of experience in the Machine Tool field Good understanding of electrical and mechanical principles Flexibility to work hours as project needs dictate Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required Location & Compensation: Groton, CT Pay: $24-43 per hour Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) match Travel up to 10-15% to visit clients and provide services Join a team working on innovative, groundbreaking projects About Lean Synergy: Lean Synergy Staffing is a Veteran-owned & operated recruiting firm dedicated to connecting top-tier talent with impactful roles across various industries.
