TEKsystems c/o Allegis Group is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to support server operations for a nation-wide IT project for a government customer. Qualified candidates must have knowledge of Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, Exchange, and leadership experience. Responsibilities Manage and maintain supported Microsoft Windows Server operating systems on physical and virtual environments. Adhere to change management practices, write Change Requests, and obtain approvals. Assist in storage and data management, specifically file and folder permissions. Support operational transition of enterprise solutions into production. Serve as primary POC for local server, network, and telecom repair of District infrastructure components. Coordinate local response to IAVA vulnerability remediation. Coordinate Level 3 support to District technical personnel. Act as primary escalation POC for after hours and VIP level support requests. Ensure work schedules of SAIC and subcontractor employees are established and coordinated to provide coverage during contractually required hours. Review workloads and ticket distribution; reassign priorities to meet service delivery metrics; responsible for SLA performance. Collaborate with local ITC and Ops Officer to address user needs. Monitor the technical performance of SAIC and subcontractor staff and report performance to the SAIC Division Manager. Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Monitor the effectiveness of Service Delivery to the local site and report discrepancies and escalations to the SAIC Division Manager. Required Education and Experience Active Secret Clearance Active CompTIA Security+ certification 3+ years of Windows Systems Administration experience BA/BS Degree (4 additional years of experience can be substituted for degree) Experience using ServiceNow or a similar ticketing system Experience with Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2016 Experience with VMware Understanding of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, DFS; ability to maintain other Windows core services Understanding of NTFS file share permissions Fundamental understanding of authentication mechanisms such as Kerberos and LDAP Basic networking experience (TCP/IP, routing, SSH, OpenVPN) Independent problem solver with troubleshooting, decision-making and analytical skills Normal work hours: Monday–Friday; 8-hour shift between 6AM and 6PM local time Pay and Benefits Pay range: $30.00 - $35.00/hr Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment Benefits may include Medical, dental & vision; Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital; 401(k); Life Insurance; Short and long-term disability; Health Spending Account; Transportation benefits; Employee Assistance Program; Time Off/Leave Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Vicksburg, MS.
