Asurion . We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Network Automation Engineer to join our growing infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions that support and enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of our network infrastructure. You will work closely with network engineers, DevOps teams, and system administrators to streamline network operations through automation and orchestration. Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain network automation solutions using modern scripting languages and tools. Develop playbooks, templates, and scripts to automate configuration, deployment, and monitoring of network devices and services. Collaborate with the network operations and security teams to identify areas for automation and efficiency improvements. Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines and network monitoring systems. Maintain version control of scripts and configurations using Git or similar tools. Troubleshoot network issues and automation failures with a focus on root cause analysis and long-term resolution. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry best practices for network security and reliability. Document workflows, processes, and code to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing. Research and evaluate new automation technologies and tools to improve operational efficiency. Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 4+ years of experience in network engineering with at least 2–3 years in a network automation role. Strong scripting and programming skills in languages such as Python, YAML, …etc. Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef. Familiarity with APIs (REST, NETCONF, gNMI) and their use in network automation. Solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs, ACLs, SNMP, VPN, SDN). Proficiency with version control systems such as Git. Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, or other enterprise-class networking gear. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps. Understanding of virtualization and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their networking components. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team setting. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with network modeling tools or digital twins such as CISCO's CML. Experience with Network Orchestration Tools such as Itential, Ansible, …etc Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Network certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, DevNet, or similar). Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
