Systems Administrator - SME
in Dayton, OH. The Senior System Administrator serves as the Program Office's information technology lead, supporting, designing, maintaining, and monitoring internal and external networks as well as implementing and managing systems, applications, security, and network configurations. The role involves resolving network performance issues, recommending upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment, and providing technical support and guidance to users. Responsibilities
Personnel performing in this position shall be an experienced and motivated information technology (IT) professional with the necessary skills to support AFLCMC/C3B by independently executing IT/Systems Administrator tasks in a classified work environment. Support the implementation, configuration, operations, and maintenance of multiple classified and unclassified networked systems. Plan, coordinate, and install applications software and hardware for multiple classified networked systems. Define/resolve information technology issues; provide troubleshooting/Helpdesk support to all ABMS assigned personnel. Maintain inventory control records for all ABMS IT equipment, to include current and future inventory; this includes new software and networks. Oversee the installation and configuration of applications software and the establishment of user environments. Manage installation of system patches and enhancements/updates and ensures system integrity is not compromised. Provide proactive consultation and instruction with system users to ensure seamless implementation of changes. Provide ABMS with secure video teleconferencing (VTC) support. Perform network system administration: Administer and maintain assigned multiple systems and act as the ABMS POC for networks. Provide ABMS VTC support for AF7 and JWICS. Identify system problems of an unusual or complex nature and develop corrective action. Continually survey system operation to identify and anticipate potential problems which could lead to loss or serious interruption or compromise of system availability. Troubleshoot and analyze unusual or complex hardware and software malfunctions to resolve physical and logical processing problems and recommend acquisition of equipment, software and/or hardware which will resolve operational problems. Identify corrective or preventive procedures and take actions to rectify immediate problems and prevent future occurrences. Analyze and diagnose system failures to isolate source of problems. Perform testing, troubleshoot, and correct complex or unusual problems involving interface and interoperability of system components such as hardware, systems software, and applications programs. Plan, coordinate, and install applications software and hardware for multiple classified networked systems. Maintain inventory control records for all ABMS IT equipment, to include current and future inventory; this includes new software and networks. Optimize the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems and ensure availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers. Oversee the installation and configuration of applications software and the establishment of user environments. Design data products, processes, or programs that enhance functional area management and provide for increased organization optimization of Information Technology processes. Manage installation of system patches and enhancements/updates and ensure system integrity is not compromised. Develop standard procedures for account establishment, system maintenance, and system recovery. Ensure maintenance and upgrade procedures are established to minimize disruption to normal business functions, including scheduled backups and applying upgrades or patches with minimal impact. Provide proactive consultation and instruction with system users to ensure seamless implementation of changes. Support contractor inspections to ensure contractor node network controls are documented and properly implemented. Participate in working groups and team planning offsites. Establish trusted and influential relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Qualifications
12+ years of relevant System Administration for DoD networks. Security+ Certification Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, FTP, SSH, IP CONFIG) Experience in Technical Support, Cloud Computing, Information Security, and Compliance Installing, configuring, and managing network switches and routers (versed in OSPF, MPLS, SDN, routing/switching on Juniper and Cisco hardware platforms) Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently Education
Bachelor's degree required with 16 years of Sys Admin experience or Master's Degree with 12 years' Sys Admin experience. Clearance
Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility. At least 12 months of Special Access Programs (SAP) experience within the last 3 years. Please Note: U.S. Citizenship is required. Additional Notes
