Job Title: Senior Accountant Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with strong experience in Commercial Real Estate, specifically Retail properties. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, be proficient in Excel, and bring a detail-oriented, analytical mindset to support the company’s financial and operational goals. Key Responsibilities:

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

Prepare and analyze CAM reconciliations, including calculation and billing to tenants.

Maintain tenant ledgers, review lease terms, and ensure accurate recording of revenue and recoveries.

Collaborate with the Property Management and Leasing teams to ensure lease data and operating expense allocations are accurate.

Analyze variances in operating expenses and provide supporting documentation to management.

Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for assigned properties.

Review and ensure accurate coding of invoices, expenses, and accruals.

Provide support during annual audits and tax preparation.

Utilize advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, etc.) to build reports and streamline processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in retail or commercial real estate.

Hands-on experience with CAM reconciliations is required.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of accounting/reporting systems a plus (e.g., Yardi, MRI, QuickBooks, or similar).

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills and ability to interact cross-functionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Yardi or MRI software.

CPA or working toward CPA is a plus.

Familiarity with retail lease structures, percentage rents, and tenant chargebacks.
