Reconciliation Analyst
to join our payroll team. This role is responsible for managing garnishments, handling uncashed payroll checks, and performing payroll tax reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of payroll processes, and the ability to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Key Responsibilities
Garnishment Processing & Compliance
Manage court-ordered wage garnishments (e.g., child support, tax levies) Ensure accurate and timely deductions and remittance to agencies Respond to inquiries from employees, agencies, and internal teams Analyze audit output and implement process improvements Understand garnishment calculations within payroll Uncashed Payroll Checks Management
Track and reconcile uncashed checks; ensure escheatment compliance Communicate with employees to resolve unclaimed payroll funds Coordinate with finance and state agencies for reporting and remittance Monthly Payroll Tax Reconciliation
Reconcile payroll tax accounts monthly for accurate reporting Resolve discrepancies between payroll records and tax filings Support quarterly and annual filings (941, W-2, state reports) Coordinate with tax authorities and payroll providers on issues Process Improvement & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all payroll tax and garnishment laws Maintain records and support audits Identify and implement process improvements and automation Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial processing Qualifications
At least 4 years of experience in multi-state payroll and tax compliance Experience with ADP Smart Compliance is a plus Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations Effective communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal) Strong organizational abilities Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience leading a team Core Competencies
