The Controller will be an important strategic resource reporting directly to the CEO. The position will manage finance, accounting, and the company’s financial strategy. The Controller provides information, primarily financial and administrative in nature, about company activities with strategic analysis and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide detailed financial oversight and analysis for the company. Partner with the CEO on strategic opportunities.
Oversee and execute the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets.
Oversee and execute accounts payable activities, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
Oversee and execute accounts receivable activities to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.; funding service management, which includes weekly funding reports and customer service; quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports; and check statistic management.
Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all processes and data, and enhance profitability.
Respond to the CEO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate company financial needs.
Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
Partner with outside accounting firm to assure corporate income tax compliance and accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns, taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
With the CEO, establish and maintain effective relationships with banks and other financial partners.
Key Requirements
4-year degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or a related discipline
5-10 years of senior level accounting and/or finance experience
Strong communications skills written and verbal
High ethical standards, initiative, credibility, and integrity
Strong conviction, high self-confidence and the ability to provide critical feedback.
