Personal Bankers have direct interface with current and potential Bank customers. They provide services which include opening new accounts, explaining Bank products and services, solving customer problems, and responding to other customer requests. A Personal Banker must possess a thorough knowledge of all Bank products and services, fully understand and adhere to all federal and state laws and the policies of the Bank, as well as handle conflict situations. A positive and professional customer service attitude is essential. Personal Bankers may participate in programs aimed at identifying new customers and enhance the services of existing customers. Personal Bankers report to the designated Branch Manager and Market President .

Personal Bankers provide Teller services to Bank customers by conducting transactions.

Duties And Responsibilities

Provide high quality service to every customer i.e. smile, greet, address by name, timely assistance, etc. Develop working knowledge of bank products/services via training, Bank website, intranet information, meetings, etc. Protect customer privacy and maintain confidentiality Ability to multi-task and problem-solve Determine customer needs, explain products and services Telephone customers to welcome, thank and promote products. Participate in branch prospecting efforts Assist customers with requests such as stop payments, wire transfers, balance discrepancies, loan information, address changes etc. Serve as a liaison between customer and operational areas Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures and internal controls, and meet all job-specific requirements in a timely fashion Routinely provide quality customer service and a positive banking experience by handling financial transactions (i.e. opening of accounts, cashing checks, etc.) with a professional attitude on both the teller line and platform Receive checking/savings deposits and withdrawals: verify cash, endorsements, identification, and issue receipts Determine proper funds availability for checks cashed or deposited based on Bank and regulatory requirements Process Regulation CC Holds, as needed Redeem U.S. Savings Bonds Issue money orders, cashier’s checks Open/assist customers with safe deposit box request – balance branch boxes monthly Accept loan payments: verify payment amount, ensure proper loan payment code, and issue receipts Buy/sell cash from vault as necessary, ensuring teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded Balance teller drawer daily, including locating cash discrepancies Perform end of day balancing and Teller Capture balancing Complete Currency Transaction Reports (CTR), Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), and Monetary Instrument Logs (MIL) Balance ATM and load cash into ATM Ensure workstation is properly supplied and neat Promote and maintain positive relations with all employees, contacts, customers, and potential customers. Represent the Bank in business development efforts and civic and community functions.

Experience And Other Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of one (1) year banking experience (preferred) Documentation skills with attention to detail Must possess the ability to interact positively with all levels of the organization, including Management, the Board, Coworkers, and the Public. Excellent oral, written, telephone, organizational and interpersonal communication skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel. Must be proficient using e-mail and the internet.
