Overview

Information Technology Services (ITS) is DSS’s technology services organization. ITS mission is to support the daily, emergent, and long-term needs of both agencies. ITS creates and enhances the technology infrastructure and computer applications that support HRA and DHS and develops applications, including a variety of client eligibility and recertification systems, case management systems, housing systems, employment/work engagement services, revenue producing computer matches, claiming systems, and personnel systems. Responsibilities

Coordinate activities among the NYCWAY Analysis and Development units that are involved in application design and development projects utilizing agile and waterfall software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies. Develop/design work outlines regarding the functions of the subordinate units involved with the design, development, and monitoring of NYCWAY application software, using best practices in software development lifecycle management, to ensure the timely delivery of solutions, and uninterrupted operation of agency NYCWAY systems. Prepare technical/administrative recommendations for executive management to inform and influence decision making and participate in the formulation of decisions having impact on other areas of ITS regarding upstream and downstream impacts of NYCWAY system modifications and performance. Ensure the integrity and efficiency of all DSS solutions and help ensure the efficient use of Agency assets and resources and collaborate with Senior ITS executives. Ensure timely and quality deliverables and support are provided for the NYCWAY ecosystem, and that objectives for proper planning and development of NYCWAY software solutions are met. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. Preferred Skills

Proficiency in Unisys Mapper (SDM/ BIS) for application development. Designing and coding Mapper procedures for reports, data processing and transactions. Creating data entry screens, reports, and queries using Mapper syntax. Experience with batch and online transactions in Mapper. Strong problem-solving and documentation skills. Cross-functional collaboration with business analysts and system architects. Working with file transfers and batch processing between legacy and distributed systems. Experience with debugging Mapper procedures and troubleshooting runtime errors. Knowledge of system modernization approaches (migrating from Unisys Mapper to SQL, Oracle etc).
