Valor Bank
The Senior Credit Analyst position will require an individual that is sharp and detail-driven to help maintain the strength and integrity of our commercial loan portfolio. This role is critical in evaluating credit risk, monitoring portfolio performance, and ensuring our lending practices align with both internal policy and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for risk, producing actionable insights that support sound credit decisions and proactive portfolio management. This individual will serve as a key partner to senior credit leadership, helping to uphold the bank’s credit culture while identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring compliance across all lending activities.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
Conduct independent reviews of commercial loan files to assess credit quality, underwriting standards, and adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements
Analyze borrower financial statements, cash flow, and collateral to evaluate repayment capacity and assign accurate risk ratings
Identify emerging risks, credit weaknesses, and servicing deficiencies across the loan portfolio through periodic and targeted reviews
Monitor loan performance trends and provide actionable insights to improve portfolio health and support strategic lending decisions
Complete risk rating assessments for individual loan relationships, including criticized and marginal loans, and recommend appropriate action plans
Prepare well‑written, timely, and accurate loan review reports and summaries for senior management and credit committees
Collaborate with loan officers, credit analysts, and senior credit leadership to discuss findings, resolve exceptions, and align on credit strategies
Communicate trends, exceptions, and regulatory concerns to senior credit leadership on a defined schedule to support proactive risk management
Maintain a deep understanding of the Bank’s Lending Policy, regulatory guidelines (FDIC, OCC, etc.), and industry best practices
Recommend updates to lending policies and procedures based on review findings, regulatory changes, and evolving credit risk dynamic

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
3+ years of experience in commercial loan review, credit analysis, or commercial lending
Strong understanding of financial statements, credit risk, and loan structuring
Proficiency in Excel and loan review systems
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
