The position is based in Ogden, UT, working Monday – Friday at our branch located at 2605 Washington Blvd. The Controller manages the general ledger and financial reporting, oversees key financial operations including cash position and liquidity, and prepares and submits the quarterly Call Report for regulatory compliance. This role supports internal decision‑making and external reporting by ensuring financial data is timely, accurate, and well‑organized.
Responsibilities
Supervise Accounting Department: review GL accounts for accuracy, supervise reconciliations, maintain records, perform reconciliations as needed, manage department staff, and maintain prepaids and accruals.
Review Daily Cash Position: monitor daily Federal Reserve position and cash sources, authorize daily Federal funds transactions, maintain cash requirements, and optimize liquidity while controlling daylight overdrafts.
Accounts Payable: authorize payments, ensure documentation and authenticity, supervise 1099 filings, and manage expense vouchers processing.
Call Report Preparation & Regulatory Filings: ensure accuracy and timeliness of quarterly FFIEC Call Reports and other regulatory submissions.
Internal Controls & Audit Support: oversee controls related to financial reporting and support audits.
System & Process Improvements: identify and implement improvements in accounting systems and processes.
Compliance Knowledge: familiarity with banking regulations (FDIC, FRB, OCC) and GAAP standards.
Risk Management Awareness: understand financial risk exposures and support mitigation, especially in liquidity and cash management.
Reporting: produce various financial reports across the organization.
Complete special projects as needed and participate in budgeting processes.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s preferred.
5–7 years of accounting experience.
3+ years of supervisory accounting responsibility.
CPA preferred.
Financial services experience preferred.
