Job Description The AP Cost Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of accounts payable and supply chain subsidiary ledgers, ensuring compliance with company policies, GAAP standards, and internal controls. This role involves coding costs accurately, managing supply chain-related financial activities, and ensuring proper tax recording and reporting.

Essential Functions

Develop and review spreadsheets supporting journal entries.

Coordinate posting of entries and review ledger balances for accuracy.

Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end accruals and financial statement accuracy.

Reconcile accounts and manage complex vendor coding.

Research and record sales and use tax obligations, prepare filings and audit schedules.

Support internal and external audits, vendor setup, and internal controls.

Write procedures, refine processes, and ensure policy compliance.

Maintain confidentiality and promote organizational values.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, plus 2+ years of experience; or 5+ years relevant experience without degree.

Proficiency with Excel and Access; experience with Oracle payables and supply chain modules preferred.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Experience in a multi-specialty physician practice is a plus.
