JCW is partnered with a global investment manager with a growing Alternatives and Insurance platform to hire an Assistant Controller. This role will oversee accounting, reporting, and operational functions supporting insurance-related investment vehicles, part of a dynamic business spanning private equity, private credit, and other alternative strategies. This is a hybrid role with 3 days on site in Manhattan.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee financial reporting, accounting, and operational processes across insurance-focused funds and accounts
Coordinate with third-party administrators, auditors, and actuarial teams on quarterly and annual reporting
Review management fee, NAV, and performance calculations in line with policyholder and investor requirements
Support audit and tax filings, including statutory reporting and capital allocations
Assist with liquidity management, forecasting, and capital deployment reporting
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
6–10 years of accounting or finance experience in asset management, insurance, or alternatives
Deep understanding of fund or statutory accounting principles
Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
Confident communicator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
