The Opportunity The Project Accountant is a key role for maintaining a successful, growing, and profitable office. They will act as the financial liaison between the Architectural Studio and Accounting, requiring savvy business acumen, comfort with financial information, and the ability to translate financial terms to non-financial personnel. Building strong relationships with project managers, principals, and studio leaders is essential to help achieve financial goals.

Primary Responsibilities

Review bids and proposals from a financial perspective and advise project teams.

Review executed agreements for contractual and client requirements.

Set up projects in the ERP system following company policies.

Ensure legal documentation for sub-consultants is complete for uninterrupted payments.

Provide financial reports and analyses to optimize project profitability.

Evaluate project planning and suggest corrective actions to enhance profitability and revenue recognition.

Analyze financial reports, identify anomalies, and assist in financial planning and forecasting.

Coordinate with project managers for timely invoicing and client requisitions.

Participate in collection meetings, address delinquent accounts, and escalate complex issues.

Assist with project close-out procedures.

Perform ad-hoc analyses, administrative tasks, and special projects as needed.

Travel flexibility for project meetings.

Required Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in a professional services environment, preferably in architecture, engineering, or construction.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

ERP experience (Deltek Vision) preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

High accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to collaborate effectively and maintain confidentiality.

Commitment to ethical standards and compliance.

Interest in sustainable design; additional certifications are a plus.

Additional Information PE offers a hybrid work policy, competitive salary ($58,500 to $89,500), and benefits including health coverage, 401k, PTO, holidays, life insurance, pre-tax benefits, and professional development opportunities. Compensation varies based on location and experience.
