As an Assistant Residence Manager you will work with dedicated professionals who share a passion for helping individuals in need.

Responsibilities Location: Halcott dorm, Red Hook campus. The Assistant Residence Manager assists in planning, coordination, and implementation of the residence program. Oversees intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals, partners with these individuals to facilitate daily care, enhance personal development, foster self-esteem, and meet or exceed individualized goals for success. The role includes opportunities to supervise and gain experience in program management and to develop leadership skills to step up into a house manager position.

Qualifications

Have a HS diploma/GED with one year of related experience. Bachelor degree or Associates degree with one year of related experience preferred.

Have a valid NY Driver\u2019s License.

Be flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor.

Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.

Physical Requirements Pre-employment physical required. Significant and frequent amounts of walking, sitting, stooping, bending and standing required. Frequent planned outside activities with exposure to sunlight and heat. Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to communicate by phone or in person. Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc. Good manual dexterity.

Core Curriculum (recommended training) New Directions Training, First Aid Training, SCIP-R, CPR, QPR, OSHA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Infection Control, Student Rights, Duty to Report, Corporate Compliance, Behavioral Management Training, Accounting/Budget Training, Computer Training, Interpersonal Skills/Assertiveness Training, Time Management/Organization Training, Conflict Management, Utilizing Community Resource Training, Tolerance Training, Devereux Awareness Training, Problem Solving, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Understanding Autism, Documentation Training, Communications Training, Workers Compensation Awareness Training, Sexual Behavior and Risk Prevention Training.

Level of Supervision Moderate.
