Summary The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator develops, administers, and implements occupational safety programs across the company. This role involves coordinating safety initiatives within divisions and departments, designing, developing, and evaluating safety programs. Core Competencies Customer Focus Communication Energy and Stress Management Teamwork Problem Solving Accountability and Dependability Ethics and Integrity Analytical Skills Job Duties Conduct safety orientations, training, site inspections, and reporting. Stay updated on amendments to OSHA regulations and recommend their implementation. Perform safety compliance inspections, hazard analyses, and prepare reports with recommendations. Monitor adherence to safety policies among employees and subcontractors. Organize and conduct safety training sessions on topics like WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid, and industry-specific issues. Ensure timely reporting of accidents and injuries to the corporate office. Coordinate safety activities across divisions and departments as needed. Develop, implement, and evaluate safety programs and standards in compliance with industry and regulatory standards. Provide safety briefings and guidance to personnel. Advise management on occupational safety issues and decisions. Lead safety inspections, investigations, and data analysis to identify areas for improvement. Research and adopt best practices and equipment to minimize workplace hazards. Lead or participate in safety teams and provide training to management and staff. Manage environmental and quality management systems as per company policies. Requirements University degree or community college diploma in a related field, or ten years of safety-related experience in manufacturing. Safety certifications (e.g., CRSP, MSDS) are advantageous. Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation laws. Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize, and pay attention to detail. Knowledge of civil works and heavy civil work is a plus. Progress towards or possession of safety certification is preferred. Strong analytical, decision-making, and interpersonal skills. Experience with HRIS systems, troubleshooting, and safety training. Working Conditions Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Travel as required.
