The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator develops, manages, and implements occupational safety programs across the company, including ISO management. The role involves coordinating safety initiatives within various divisions and designing safety protocols. Job Duties
Conduct safety orientations, training sessions, site inspections, and report findings. Stay updated on amendments to OSHA regulations and recommend their implementation. Perform safety compliance inspections, hazard analyses, and prepare reports. Monitor adherence to safety policies by employees and subcontractors. Organize and deliver training on WHMIS, Fall Protection, PPE, CPR/First Aid, and industry-specific safety issues. Ensure timely reporting of accidents and injuries to the corporate office. Coordinate safety activities among departments and safety personnel. Develop, evaluate, and update departmental safety programs. Provide safety briefings and guidance to field personnel. Advise management on occupational safety issues and decisions. Write and design safety standards compliant with industry and regulatory standards. Inspect work areas and equipment for hazards, especially in electrical utility areas. Conduct safety training tailored to various workgroups and review programs for compliance. Coordinate safety inspections, investigations, and data analysis. Research safety methods and equipment to minimize workplace hazards. Recommend improvements for safety tracking and reporting procedures. Lead or participate in safety teams and special task forces. Mentor less experienced safety personnel and train managers on safety topics. Requirements University degree or community college diploma in a related field, or equivalent safety-related work experience in manufacturing. Safety certification (e.g., CRSP, WHMIS) is a strong asset. Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation laws. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications. Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple projects. Knowledge of concrete formwork, demolition, heavy civil work is an asset. Certification under OSHA regulations or working towards it is an asset. Motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about safety initiatives. Leadership skills for supervising safety personnel and conducting training. Working Conditions
