Position Description This position will assist the head coach in all facets of program, which includes planning, coaching,recruiting, administering, and promoting the women's basketball team within NCAA andinstitutional standards. The assistant coach is expected to support the holistic development of student athletes and help to build and maintain a positive championship culture.

Coaching Assist the coaching staff in planning and implementing team trainingsessions.

Ability to scout opponents through video analysis.

Prepare scouting reports on opponents.

Assist in the development of pre-game match plans and provide post game matchanalysis.

Plan and implement individual training plans for players. Recruiting Ability to identify talented student athletes that fit the mission of theUniversity and the program.

Assist the coaching staff in evaluating prospective student athletes, travelrequired.

Communicate with prospective student-athletes via phone, email, and socialmedia.

Organize and participate in unofficial and official visits. Administration Compile and keep an updated schedule for training, meetings, and travel forthe team and coaches.

Organize existing equipment and work with equipment manager to order newuniforms and gear for the season.

Assist in scheduling of facilities and collaborating with game operations personnel.

Assist in coordinating travel and meal planning for away games.

Secure training times, locker rooms and video for away games.

Qualifications A bachelor’s degree and five years of intercollegiate coaching andrecruiting experience coaching/or playing at the collegiate level, preferablyat NCAA Division I or II or professional basketball, or an equivalent combinationof education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essentialduties of the job such as those listed above.

All positions at Seattle University require a criminal history background check.

Requiredto complete Coaches Recruiting Certification, annually. Additionally,adult CPR/First Aid/AED certification is required and must be maintainedfor the entire duration of employment.

Salary Range: $57,000 - $62,000

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that representsits good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at thetime of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will bedetermined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selectedcandidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equityconsiderations, and available market information, and not based on acandidate’s gender or any other protected status.
