Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball at Hudson County Community College (Jersey City, NJ).
Overview Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in all facets of the intercollegiate women's basketball program. The role emphasizes student‑athlete academic success, recruitment, player development, and program integrity.
Responsibilities
Promote a culture that prioritizes academic achievement while safeguarding the integrity of the women's basketball program and building a sustainable tradition.
Implement a student‑athlete centered philosophy for the program.
Assist the Head Coach with monitoring academic progress of student‑athletes.
Evaluate and recruit potential student‑athletes.
Develop athleticism, character, and academic skill sets for current student‑athletes.
Assist in creating and implementing practice plans.
Assist in creating and implementing game strategies.
Assist in evaluating opponents.
Assist in the safe and effective transportation of student‑athletes to and from competition sites.
Assist in the safe and effective provision of food for student‑athletes during competition travel.
Assist in the safe and effective management of inventory for the women's basketball program.
Assist in the safe and effective raising of funds for the women's basketball program.
Adhere to all applicable Garden State Athletic Conference, Region 19, NJCAA, Hudson County Community College, local, state, and federal laws, statutes, by‑laws, and regulations.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate's Degree.
Minimum 2 years of playing, coaching, or administering within a college‑level or professional‑level women's basketball program.
General knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, and leadership skills.
Valid driver's license.
First Aid/CPR Certification or willingness to attain.
