School Bus Driver Location: 2161 Foster Ave, Wheeling, IL 60090 Starting pay: Up to $30.00 per hour. Pay for routed drivers is $30/hour. Paid training for routed drivers is $30 per hour. Responsibilities
Provides safe and reliable transportation by operating a school bus or other location-specific vehicle on a fixed or changing route Exhibits ethical behavior and integrity; reports suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervisor Reports for duty on time and maintains the route in a safe manner Physically assists passengers in evacuation during emergencies Immediately reports any accident or incident per Company policy Follows Company policy around student and/or passenger management Informs appropriate personnel of problems or procedures Presents a neat and professional appearance at all times Completes all required paperwork (including route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests) and submits in a timely manner Maintains a cooperative attitude with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and passengers while promoting company goodwill Safely and efficiently utilizes vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios and emergency equipment Other duties as assigned Additional responsibilities for Paratransit Drivers may apply per location Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age; for Tennessee School Bus Drivers, at least 25 years of age per state law Must possess, or be able to obtain, all valid applicable state licenses and certifications to operate company vehicles Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; safety-sensitive employee subject to random screenings Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training Must practice defensive driving and maintain safe driving/work habits Compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, district, and contract-specific driver requirements All interested applicants for a Driver position begin with us as a Driver in Training. The Driver in Training will be trained to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and related endorsements, learn company policies and procedures, and upon successful completion be placed in a Professional Driver role.
