Abatement Worker – Eco Safe Abatement (Portland, Oregon)

Eco Safe Abatement

is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Abatement Worker to join our growing team in Portland, Oregon. We are dedicated to providing environmentally responsible abatement services and maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Safely remove and dispose of hazardous materials (asbestos, lead, mold, etc.) from buildings and structures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations

Prepare work areas by setting up containment barriers, ventilation, and decontamination units

Use hand and power tools for material removal and site preparation

Package and label hazardous waste for transport and disposal.

Maintain accurate documentation of abatement processes and waste disposal.

Clean and decontaminate work sites, tools, and equipment using HEPA vacuums and approved methods

Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, for extended periods

Communicate effectively with supervisors, safety managers, and project managers to ensure project goals and safety standards are met

Perform occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and other physically demanding tasks

Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Valid Worker or Supervisor Certification for asbestos abatement, in accordance with Oregon state and federal regulations

Minimum 1 year of experience in abatement (asbestos, lead, or mold removal)

High school diploma or GED. Experience working in construction or environmental remediation preferred

Ability to wear PPE and work in physically demanding conditions for extended periods

Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and commitment to safety.

Preferred Skills

Additional certifications in hazardous materials handling (e.g., OSHA, lead safety, HAZWOPER) [6] .

Experience with air monitoring and environmental compliance reporting [1] .

Familiarity with a variety of abatement projects (residential, commercial, industrial) [1] .
