Sales Agronomist II - North Dakota and Minnesota We are hiring multiple Sales Agronomists across Southeast North Dakota (Richland, Sargent, Ransom, Wilkin), North Dakota (Cass, Steele, Ransom, Pebina), Northeast North Dakota (Trail, Grand Forks, Nelson, Walsh), and Northwest Minnesota (Marshall, Pennington, Red Lake, Polk), as well as Minnesota (Norman, Manhnomen, Clearwater, Clay, Becker, Ottertail, Wadena, Hubbard, Beltrami). Position Overview The Sales Agronomist acts as a local expert, advising key growers on Bayer Crop Science products, technology, and innovations to ensure in-season success. The role involves developing relationships, identifying pain points, and providing agronomic insights to grow business.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Field Sales Representatives, Technical Agronomists, and SeedPros to develop a Bayer business plan and increase market share among growers with low or no Bayer share.

Build relationships with key growers by offering value-added support, including agronomic advice and product recommendations.

Support demand generation plans and team goals.

Provide comprehensive farm advice, including education and product placement, staying informed of agricultural research.

Drive Bayer portfolio trials with targeted growers.

Assist at key seasonal milestones such as crop planning, in-season needs, scouting, and harvest monitoring.

Work with team members on business planning, understanding grower objectives, KPIs, and customer targets.

Address key grower needs during the season, including resolving performance issues.

Recommend strategic initiatives to leadership for business enhancement.

Coordinate internally to align on programs and resolve issues.

Monitor grower account progress, track activities, and identify new opportunities.

Manage an annual SG&A budget and program expenses.

Travel approximately 60%, engaging face-to-face with customers.

Qualifications Required:

Strong analytical, sales, negotiation, and conflict management skills.

Ability to quickly establish and grow relationships.

Task management skills to handle multiple priorities.

Networking and consultative sales expertise.

Ability to learn and apply agronomic knowledge.

Ability to drive, potentially under DOT/FMCSA regulations.

Preferred:

At least 3 years of relevant experience in agriculture, sales, or marketing.

Experience working with remote teams.

Bachelor’s degree in an agriculture-related field or equivalent experience, with CCA preferred.

Compensation & Benefits Salary ranges from approximately $70,068.82 to $105,103.24, with potential bonuses or commissions. Benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, and sick leave. Salary may vary based on location, experience, and other factors.
