Sales Agronomist II-South Dakota We are hiring multiple Sales Agronomists across all regions in South Dakota. Please specify your preferred region in your application.
Position Overview The Sales Agronomist advises key growers as a local expert on Bayer Crop Science products, technology, and innovations to ensure in-season success. The role involves developing relationships, providing agronomic advice, and supporting business growth with key growers throughout the season.
Your Tasks And Responsibilities
Collaborate with Field Sales Representatives, Technical Agronomists, and SeedPros to develop a business plan and increase market share of Bayer products with targeted growers.
Build and maintain relationships with growers by offering value-added support, including agronomic insights and product recommendations.
Support demand generation plans and team goals.
Provide comprehensive farm advice, educate clients, and stay informed of agricultural research.
Drive Bayer portfolio trials with selected growers.
Assist during key seasonal milestones such as crop planning, responding to in-season needs, scouting, and monitoring harvests.
Work with team members on business planning, understanding, and influencing grower objectives and KPIs.
Address grower needs during the season, including resolving performance issues.
Recommend strategic initiatives to leadership to improve business results.
Coordinate internally to align on programs and resolve issues.
Monitor grower account progress, track activities, and identify new opportunities.
Manage an annual SG&A budget and program expenditures.
Travel approximately 60%, engaging face-to-face with customers.

Excellent presentation, communication, and conflict management skills.
Ability to quickly build relationships and influence customer behavior.
Strong task management and multitasking abilities.
Networking and consultative sales skills.
Ability to learn and apply agronomic knowledge.
Must be able to drive and operate safely, complying with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience in agriculture, agronomy, technology, sales, or marketing.
Experience working with sales teams and remotely.
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or related field; CCA certification preferred.
Salary range: approximately $70,068.82 to $105,103.24, plus potential bonuses, benefits, and other compensation. Salary may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications.
