faith-based, Ministry Director, Non-Profit/Parachurch/Missions An Area Director leads and oversees a ministry team to plant and grow witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus on college and university campuses. Through these groups, we believe increasing numbers of students and faculty from all ethnic groups and areas of the campus will be transformed by the gospel. The pay range listed is for an employee working 40 hours/week as an Area Director. Pay will be prorated for employees who work less than 40 hours/week. Essential Commitments/Responsibilities Spiritual Growth The Area Ministry Director models spiritual maturity as a disciple of Jesus Christ so that your life and work increasingly reflect a growing love for God, God’s Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture, and God’s purposes in the world. Pursue a vibrant relationship with the triune God through Scripture, prayer, and worship, both individually and in community. Exercise self-leadership (growing in self-awareness, self-management, relational integrity, and resiliency). Embrace and practice Scriptural standards for behavior and attitudes, including those described in the Code of Conduct. Campus Ministry Leadership As an Area Director, you inspire, coach, and develop campus staff ministers (“ministers”), students, faculty, and ministry partners to increase witnessing communities and enhance their size, health, spiritual maturity, and influence by being a: Visionary Guide: Create a culture of dependence on God to gain vision for establishing and advancing witnessing communities across campuses. Model InterVarsity’s vision and Core Values for supervisees. Lead staff, students, and faculty through Scripture, prayer, teaching, and discipleship to motivate and shape their ministry around vision. Set annual goals through prayer, research, and reflection with your teams. Structural Architect: Lead your team to develop and implement plans to achieve ministry goals. Adapt plans through rhythms of action, reflection, and evaluation. Develop, align, and leverage programs and structures to move the mission forward. Missional Developer: Recruit diverse qualified minister candidates. Develop ministers to grow spiritually in Christ and in their character and mission. Support professional development to enhance their leadership gifts and skills. Supervise ministers with appropriate leadership styles, coaching, assessing, and affirming behaviors. Build healthy relationships across racial, ethnic, national, and gender barriers to foster effective and diverse communities. Build an effective team that collaborates well and achieves goals. Organizational Collaboration You will work in partnership with local, regional, and national InterVarsity ministers and volunteers, participating in regional leadership, building ministry partnerships, and managing operational tasks and finances. Participate in regional leadership to set vision and strategies. Respond positively to coaching and direction from supervisors. Build productive partnerships with regional and national leaders. Establish systems for operational and administrative tasks. Maintain sound financial management of your area. Comply with all organizational policies and procedures. Ministry Partnership Development (MPD) Develop a team of partners to resource the ministry financially, prayerfully, and through volunteer service. Develop and maintain a network of ministry partners for funding and support. Ensure the ministry budget is fully funded. Supervise and equip staff to build ministry partnerships. Build resource networks with alumni, volunteers, churches, and donors. Communicate regularly with partners. Other Tasks Perform all other tasks as assigned to support the ministry's mission and goals.
