The Assistant Nurse Manager is a registered professional nurse who supports the Nurse Manager in overall operations of their assigned unit. The role demonstrates critical thinking, creativity, and resources management to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. The Assistant Nurse Manager coaches, mentors, and leads a professional and technical team in delivering services to our patient population. The role assures quality of care is delivered and demonstrates effective stewardship of resources. It supports change activities on the unit and works to assure implementation of changes. It actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains relationships that are respectful to all. The value you’ll bring to the team : Consistently demonstrates Florida Hospital’s core values of ICARE and adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and the ANA Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice. Lead the Employees – monitors performance of the staff, reports findings to the nurse manager, and takes corrective action as appropriate. Uses independent judgment to make recommendations regarding applicant selection and hiring process after actively participating in interviews. Performance Improvement – supports performance improvement activities on the unit through problem identification, assessment, data gathering, change implementation, and evaluation of outcomes. Critical Thinking – uses critical thinking in planning, organizing, and leading the unit; applies data-driven decision making and problem solving. Business of Healthcare Delivery – understands health care economics and policies affecting patient care, including reimbursement considerations and relevant policy initiatives. Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed : Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing; BSN required within 4 years. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Florida State Board of Nursing. Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS). Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Department Specific: Current AHA NRP certification for Labor & Delivery and Nursery; Current AHA PALS certification for Pediatrics Dept, ED, PACU.
