Power Distribution Engineer-In-Training (EIT)/Coordinator

to join our growing Power Delivery team in our Bismarck, ND office. Responsibilities

Execute the technical aspects and deliverables for assigned projects. Learn and grow into the role to complete the technical requirements of transmission line projects of basic to moderate complexity. Be mentored by senior staff members and perform tasks accordingly. Assist with the development of overhead and underground power distribution line design packages, including cost estimates, material specifications, staking sheets, and construction drawing packages. Assist with power distribution planning services, including distribution system model development, system analyses, protection settings and coordination, and AutoCAD/GIS exhibit development. Prepare written reports and routine engineering assignments using standard industry techniques. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Computer skills in Microsoft Office. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture. Preferred Qualifications

Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification. Candidates hired without EIT may be titled Distribution Coordinator. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with emphasis in Power. Experience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firms. Experience with overhead and underground line projects, including design documents, cost estimates, and regulatory knowledge (NESC). Experience with line design software (e.g., CYMCAP, ETAP, PLS-CADD, Spida, etc.) and system modeling software (Aspen, CYME, SKM, Synergi, WindMil, etc.). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Some field work and travel may be required. Local candidates preferred. About HDR and Our Commitment
