The Law Offices of Trent Nichols, PLLC is a highly-respected and growing law firm with offices in Shiner and Hallettsville, Texas. Our practice includes a wide range of civil litigation matters, from business disputes to real estate and general civil claims. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Litigation Attorney to join our team in Hallettsville. This position offers opportunities for professional growth and courtroom experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handle all aspects of civil litigation, including case intake, legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
Conduct legal analysis and develop case strategies in consultation with senior attorneys or independently, depending on experience level.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties.
Manage case files, deadlines, and billing responsibilities.
Assist with business development efforts and maintain strong professional relationships.
REQUIREMENTS:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in Texas (or pending Texas Bar admission for recent graduates).
Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Litigation experience preferred, but not required—recent law school graduates are encouraged to apply.
COMPENSATION: Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Your overall compensation is dictated by productivity. We pay a base salary based on a low minimum billable hour requirement, plus additional pay based on hours billed above the base requirement. You dictate your overall compensation based on your total billable hours.
LOCATION: Hallettsville, Texas (Lavaca County)
