Overview Handle personal injury case files from start to finish; evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients; draft, review, and modify claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memoranda, and other legal documents; research case law and premises liability; gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other evidence relevant to the case; communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information; negotiate suitable agreements and settlements on behalf of clients; make court appearances at hearings and trials, attend mediations, depositions, and litigation throughout the state of California; document and update the status of all case files in case management systems; manage a team of paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, and legal secretaries; track work calendar and deadlines in accordance with the California Code of Civil Procedure; calculate costs and prepare settlement breakdowns for clients and insurance providers.
Responsibilities

Research case law and gather relevant evidence (insurance policies, medical records)
Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, insurers, and medical providers
Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
Appear at hearings, trials, mediations, and depositions
Maintain case management documentation and deadlines
Lead and coordinate a team of paralegals and assistants
Prepare settlement breakdowns for clients and insurance providers
Qualifications
JD, admitted to the California State Bar
Preferred experience with Westlaw and Case management systems (e.g., CasePeer)
