Overview

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for an ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIP MECH SUPV (SMALL SHOP CHIEF), Position Description Number PDD1203000, and is part of the SC CSMS, South Carolina Army National Guard. Duties

This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. Responsible for supervising workers directly or through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing the work of the function. Plans work operations of great scope, complexity, and administrative authority. Determines the sequence, priority, and time for the performance of particular operations within the limits of broad work schedules and time limits. The occupation and nonsupervisory grade level which best reflects the nature of the overall work operations supervised is Electronic Measurement Equipment Mechanic, WG-2602-11. Work involves maintenance, repairs, calibration, and certification of electronic test, measurement, and reference equipment used for precise measurement of electrical and electronic values. Quantities and relationships include voltage, resistance, capacitance, frequency, and inductance. Requirements

Conditions of employment

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is a Title 32 Technician Vacancy requiring membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state’s National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver’s license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. Qualifications

Experience or training that demonstrates the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs, explain manuals and work procedures, and prepare production/work records and reports. Specialized Experience Requirements:

In addition to journeyman knowledge, ability to plan, direct, and organize work for lower grade personnel; review work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function; ability to supervise or demonstrate potential for supervisory duties; knowledge of shop processes; experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
