Senior Biomarker Repository Technician
to support our government customer located in Fort Detrick, Frederick, MD. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in developing and executing protocols for biomarker verification in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 environments. Perform experiments at BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 as required by the experimental design and organisms. Conduct molecular diagnostic techniques including next-generation sequencing, Nanostring, Luminex, and miRNA quantification. Detect etiologic agents in animal and clinical samples. Handle small animals and perform related laboratory work. Assist in preparing technical reports and manuscripts. Perform sample collection, concentration, and processing, including DNA/mRNA purification. Present protocols and data at weekly meetings. Identify and troubleshoot assay and instrument issues. Travel may be required to support diagnostic missions or research presentations. Manage biosample repositories for biomarker evaluation. Conduct detailed clinical sample testing for animal and human studies. Train new lab members in project-specific techniques. Supervise laboratory spaces to ensure safety and functionality. Analyze and consolidate biomarker data for reports and publications. Support multiple projects annually and contribute to reports. Maintain and revise Biomarker SOPs. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Master's Degree in Biological Science REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience with cell culture and handling biological samples. Proficiency in molecular techniques: NGS, Nanostring, Luminex, PCR, miRNA, nucleic acid purification. Experience in BSL-2 and BSL-3 labs; BSL-4 experience is a plus. Handling infectious agents and complex assays experience. REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
