Cost Accountant

Responsibilities Possess extensive knowledge and proficiency in cost accounting, including preparing, analyzing, and tracking inventory reserves, material savings, forecasts, and margin variances. Monitor and analyze purchase price and production variances, and prepare cost reports for various materials, work in process, finished goods, inventory, and labor. Compare standard and actual production costs, investigate variances, and analyze changes in product bill of materials and labor routers. Maintain cost accounting systems for parts and equipment, support annual standard cost roll processes, and review inventory count adjustments. Assist in the coordination and planning of annual physical inventory, collaborate with stakeholders on new product margins, and assist in the monthly close process. Lead new product costing and commercialization, maintain fixed asset registers, assist in budgeting, and lead project work. Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues. Required Qualifications: Requires a minimum of 7 years in accounting and financial roles, with at least 5 years in business accounting and experience in the manufacturing industry. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Must have robust knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting, with a proven track record of accuracy and integrity. Requires proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
