Job Summary

The Facilities Administration is currently seeking a Temporary Security Equipment Technician to join their team of professionals.

Duties Include

Responsible for the University Surveillance (CCTV) and Burglar Alarm Systems installation, repair, and maintenance for all campuses. Programs cameras using the Video Management Software (CMS). Assists DoIT to ensure device installations are connecting properly. Is responsible for updating camera layouts on floor plans in the VMS and assists with footage retrieval. Programs all zones and codes for the IP Burglar Alarm System using alarm software. Performs routine testing of the burglar alarm system and panic hardware in conjunction with FIU Police. Monitors cameras and alarms to make sure they are fully functional and troubleshoots all network connectivity issues. Performs essential duties during any emergencies, such as hurricanes, storms, and/or other University emergency closings. Is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closings with appropriate notification by the department administrator. Performs other related duties as required or directed by supervisor. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in the field; or technical certification or associated degree.

Work Schedule

8:30 AM-5:00 PM.

Advertised Salary

$18.00 per hour.
