City of Greenfield, WI Operations Technician Potable Water – technical and highly responsible role focused on the operation and maintenance of water facilities including a large Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF), Water Supply & Treatment Facilities (WS&T), and water/wastewater pumping stations. Responsible for instructing, directing, and overseeing a group of employees in the operation of water and wastewater facilities. Operates water/wastewater treatment processes, sludge and disposal processes, and chemical feeds to ensure quality and control of the flow and processing of water, wastewater, and sludge. Monitors, reads, records, and interprets equipment gauges, meters, control panels, and computerized process indicators. Operates valves, gates, pumps, motors, equipment and instrumentation to control and adjust flow and treatment processes per standard operating procedures or as directed by operating standards. Collects samples, operates sampling equipment, and performs maintenance, lubrication, and routine repair of mechanical and electrical equipment. Must possess CDL Class B driver\'s license with air brake endorsement. A 2B or higher Hoisters license; possess a Grade 2T (or minimum) Water Treatment Plant Operator\'s license from the Commonwealth; and certification for testing of backflow prevention devices. Must successfully pass CORI/SORI checks; must have an acceptable driving record and be insurable under city\'s policy; must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen pursuant to DOT Regulations. Overtime hours are required on alternating weekends and staggered holidays. Responsibilities
