$140,000 - $150,000 / year A leading home décor distributor experiencing rapid growth is seeking a hands-on and results-driven Controller to lead its accounting function. This role is 100% onsite at the company’s new Downtown LA headquarters and will oversee a small accounting team, ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, and drive cost optimization across the business. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and brings strong wholesale, inventory, and import/export accounting expertise. Base pay range
$140,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Prepare and present financial statements and reporting packages to leadership and external stakeholders Ensure proper accounting treatment of inventory, landed costs, freight, and import/export transactions Maintain general ledger accuracy and oversee journal entries Monitor and optimize budgeting, forecasting, and cost-saving initiatives Supervise and support AP, AR, and staff accounting team Partner with company leadership on strategic financial decisions Lead continuous process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls Controller Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Controller managing accounting staff Experience with wholesale operations, physical inventory, and importing/exporting Advanced Excel skills Strong financial acumen and attention to detail Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment Business-minded with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude Must be comfortable working 100% onsite, Monday–Friday CPA designation is preferred Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP is preferred Experience scaling finance operations within a growing mid-sized business is a plus Benefits
