ICC Industries Inc., the parent company of Primex Plastics Corporation, is a holding company active in trading, distribution, marketing, and manufacturing (primarily specialty chemicals, plastics, and related products), both domestically and internationally.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and QuickBooks-savvy Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. This role requires strong general accounting experience, excellent computer and technical skills, and high-level Excel proficiency.
This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, depending on experience level.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting activities using QuickBooks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing
Make accurate and timely bi-weekly online payments, including vendor payments, warehouse inventory reporting, cash management, and booking of cash receipts
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with GAAP
Perform detailed account analysis and reconciliations to identify variances and investigate discrepancies
Assist with various renewals of insurance policies, surveys, and other similar tasks
Use advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, conditional formatting) to build and maintain financial models and dashboards
Assist in automating manual processes using Excel-based tools
Support timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Assist with audit inquiries
Manage intercompany transactions, including billing back subsidiaries for shared expenses or services
Perform quarterly and monthly intercompany reconciliations and reporting to ensure accurate elimination and consolidation entries
Calculate and record quarterly interest on intercompany loans and balances, ensuring proper documentation and consistency with internal agreements
Perform various ad-hoc analyses and reconciliations as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA a plus
Minimum 2 years of experience in general accounting preferred
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks preferred
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel and experience working with large datasets
Excellent cross-functional communication and project management abilities
