As our Reading Specialist, you'll design and implement a scalable reading program across multiple campuses, lead tech-enhanced workshops, and collaborate with engineers to refine our AI tools. What You Will Be Doing Deliver high-impact reading workshops that develop foundational skills in phonics, comprehension, and fluency using our adaptive technology platform Design personalized motivational frameworks that transform student engagement through strategic, gamified literacy milestones Analyze comprehensive student progress data to refine instruction and extract actionable insights for program development Partner with our engineering team to evaluate and enhance AI literacy tools based on classroom implementation results Develop scalable, replicable content that personalizes reading pathways for diverse learners across multiple campuses What You Won’t Be Doing Following rigid, one-size-fits-all curricula that ignore student data and individual learning profiles Spending excessive time on traditional lesson planning, grading papers, or administrative paperwork Managing overcrowded classrooms with insufficient resources and technology Dedicating valuable instructional time to behavior management instead of focused reading instruction Working in isolation without the opportunity to influence program development or technological innovation Reading Teacher Key Responsibilities

Architect and implement a scalable, AI-enhanced reading program that consistently enables early elementary students to achieve grade-level proficiency while cultivating a lifelong love of reading. Basic Requirements Bachelor's degree with advanced certification in structured literacy instruction (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent) Minimum 2 years of demonstrated success delivering small-group reading interventions to early elementary students Proven ability to assess reading levels, strategically group students, and design differentiated instruction without reliance on pre-written curricula Demonstrated proficiency with AI/adaptive learning tools and ability to respond effectively to student engagement patterns Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship Commitment to work on-site at one of our campuses: Lake Forest (Orange County, CA), San Francisco, Miami, or New York City About Alpha Want to join a learning rebellion that’s transforming the traditional classroom? The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
