Position Summary The PRA II in Record Completion is responsible for analyzing patient record content in order to accurately assign documentation deficiencies to the responsible physician; communicating/coordinating with medical and house staff regarding healthcare record deficiencies; and providing assistance to physicians in the completion of incomplete healthcare records and documents according to hospital by-laws, rules, regulations and JCAHO guidelines. Prepares and complies daily, weekly and monthly statistical reports, ensuring integrity of chart deficiency database, and participates in departmental PI projects.

Required Qualifications

3 years experience working with hospital medical records.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in the department and across the Health System.

Familiarity with alpha/numeric filing systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Credentialed as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or AAIR.

Working knowledge of SoftMed ChartScript and Chart Fact.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

PC literacy.

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
