Job Description Adjunct Faculty, Action Sports role at Inside Higher Ed.

Primary responsibility is teaching and student support at Colorado Mountain College. Faculty members assist students learning process and use educational technology. Faculty are committed to facilitating learning and engaging in scholarly and service activities. The college focuses on excellence in teaching and dynamic classroom experiences. Successful candidates will demonstrate passion for classroom experiences and student support.

Pre-requisites / Qualifications

Minimum of master’s degree in specific program or 18 graduate credits in related field.

One‑year full‑time teaching experience or equivalent adjunct experience.

Higher education teaching experience preferred.

Strong background in computers and technology.

Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Willingness to learn and work independently toward goals and deadlines.

Knowledge of pedagogy and teaching experience of two years.

Commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.

Bilingual or conversational language abilities preferred.

Minimum Qualifications Essential duties include teaching course load, evaluating courses, maintaining office hours, advising, orientation, and participation in committees. Faculty are expected to engage in scholarly and creative activities and service activities such as committees, mentoring peers, student organization recruitment and retention.

Essential Duties

Teach classes as assigned.

Prepare lesson plans according to course objectives.

Submit course outlines and syllabi.

Assist in development of measurable course objectives and plans.

Develop professional relationship with students and staff.

Maintain accurate course records and complete course forms.

Be available for student consultation.

Assist in recruitment of students.

Assist evaluation of curriculum and instructional performance.

Represent the college in a professional manner.

Engage in professional development as required for credentialing.

Supervision of the Position Reports to the Assistant Dean of Instruction or designee in alignment with discipline deans.

Working Conditions Constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; frequent reaching and use of finger movements; occasional lifting up to 50 lb; use of computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
