The Acquisition Program Manager will support Air Force Life Cycle Management Center customers at WPAFB, OH. The role involves planning and acquiring cost-effective, long‑term critical U.S. Air Force capabilities within an Integrated Product Team structure. Interaction with major defense contractors is expected, as is moderate travel (up to 20%).

Responsibilities

Work with Development and Production PMs for program execution.

Track requirements, coordinate with DOORS and engineering to map requirements completion with contract execution.

Build RFP packages, including SOW, SOO, FOPR, contract planning, and financial planning.

Create Acquisition Strategy documentation, including reports and briefings with functional coordination.

Manage stakeholder relationships, including points of contact, scheduling, and meeting minutes.

Monitor financial and contract performance: spend plans, monthly vendor reviews, schedule analysis, and coordinate with Finance on MIPRs, Form 9, 7600A, Interagency Agreements, and Business Management Reviews.

Coordinate risk management: vendor risk mapping, weekly risk review meetings, and escalating high risks to branch level.

Own business process optimization: analyze and improve division and branch processes, manage change initiatives, and interface with the Division Director’s Action Group.

Qualifications

10 years of acquisition experience, including DoD contracting and program management strategies.

Experience on classified and/or special access programs.

Self‑starter with strong problem definition skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Proficiency with collaboration tools such as Confluence and Jira.

Strong interpersonal skills, capable of developing briefings and reports for senior DoD leadership.

Extensive acquisition and contract management experience, monitoring program execution and integration of complex programs and systems, and knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations.

Knowledge of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center framework, directives, and policies.

Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project for financial and schedule analysis of technology projects.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business (with at least 8 years of experience on DoD contracts/programs focused on engineering).

Master’s degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, or related military studies (desired).

Project management certifications (e.g., DAU, PMP, Agile, or similar) (desired).

Clearance Requirements

Active Top‑Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility.

U.S. Citizenship is required for this position, due to contract requirements.
