Room Attendant – Arlo Hotels
Arlo Hotels, an independent lifestyle hotel, is actively seeking a dynamic Room Attendant. Room Attendants play a crucial role in providing a home‑away‑from‑home experience for each of our guests every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
Always treat guests with courtesy and respect in a variety of situations
Maintain open communication with Housekeeping Managers and all other departments
Review daily inventory of rooms, arrivals and departures
Maintain personal hygiene and grooming
Adhere to hotel Health and Safety guidelines
Participate in pre‑shift meeting
Work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
Daily sign in/out of designated master key
Report any accidents and/or incidents immediately
Acknowledge guests with eye contact and use guest name whenever possible
Report all guest concerns to management promptly
SPECIFIC DUTIES – Guest Rooms
Prepare materials needed to complete daily tasks on the Room Attendant cart prior to cleaning rooms for your shift.
Cleaning of Guest Rooms includes but is not limited to:
Bed: remove dirty linens, replace with clean linens and set bed to Arlo standards.
Bathroom: clean counter, sink, mirror, toilet, shower area, floors, and replace towels.
Remove garbage from bins and report any lost items to the Housekeeping Manager following proper procedures.
Ensure proper use of cleaning products, chemicals, and carts per MSDS policy.
Report any damages or repairs to the Housekeeping Manager for repair by engineering.
LINEN CLOSET / TRASH COMPATITOR / LINEN SHOOT
Maintain cleanliness and organization of Linen Closet.
Ensure proper usage of linen and inventory procedures.
Empty dirty linens via the linen shoot and properly utilize the linen shoot.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of Trash Compactor.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of Linen Shoot.
PUBLIC SPACE
Ensure floors are clean and free of debris.
Clean doors as required and ensure doors are free of smudges.
Maintain high level of service in public areas and guest corridors.
Ensure that public washrooms are clean, tidy and adequately supplied with paper products.
OTHER HOUSEKEEPING RELATED DUTIES
Participate in monthly and weekly housekeeping projects.
Sign off on guest requests in the department log.
Review the status of incomplete work at the end of each shift with Assistant Manager‑Housekeeping.
Perform well under pressure situations and time demands.
Support other operating departments and guest activities.
Ensure that productivity standards are consistently followed.
Any other duties requested by management.
REQUIREMENTS
Hotel experience preferred or commercial cleaning companies.
Ability to frequently lift, carry, pull and push up to 15 lbs.
Ability to occasionally lift, carry, pull and push up to 35 lbs.
Ability to reach hand and arms in any direction and kneel, stoop or crouch repeatedly including bending, standing, reaching and kneeling.
Ability to obtain and/or maintain on the job training certification in relation to health and safety.
