Overview
Basketball Girls Junior Varsity Head Coach position at Napa Valley Unified School District. The season runs November through February, with some off-season activities expected. The JV Head coach receives a district stipend at the end of the season. Must be willing and able to work with NHS staff, student athletes, parents, administration, and the NHS Athletic Booster Club. Responsibilities
Provide leadership and coaching for the girls' junior varsity basketball program. Plan and conduct practices and game-day strategies; teach sportsmanship and character-building values. Collaborate with school staff, parents, administration, and booster club. Qualifications
Experience in basketball and coaching, with a resume of working with student-athletes at the high school level. Must obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports, NFHS Heat and Illness Prevention, and all other Napa Valley Unified School District HR required documents. Knowledge of the physical capacities and limitations of high school age athletes; understanding of coaching principles related to educational philosophy, adolescent psychology, nutrition, risk management, and the rules and strategies of basketball.
