Assistant Quality Assurance Manager for 2nd shift
to join our team based in
Pembroke, NC . In addition to supervising QA Technicians on 2nd shift, this position is also responsible for implementing Quality Manager System components including SQF, HACCP, FSMA, and GMPs to ensure safety and quality of employees and products. Ensure Safe Quality Food (SQF) guidelines and directives are implemented effectively, are being followed, and are functioning as expected. Assure conformance to SQF, HACCP, FSMA, GMP, and Company guidelines on the second shift. Enforce food safety and food quality activities and monitor the quality and integrity of ingredients and products. Assist with the training of new QA employees, including in the understanding and importance of food safety and food quality. Supervise and schedule the 2nd shift QA Leads and Technicians. Apprise the QA Manager of daily occurrences, report issues and incidents, and assume responsibilities of the QA Manager when not present. Assist in maintaining certification documentation, including SQF, GMO Free, and Kosher. Serve as the lead in complaint investigations regarding customer issues and suggest solutions to correct non-conformances or product deviations. Participate in audits for the Facility and in achieving the expected score. Ensure laboratory samples are properly labelled and submitted. Qualifications And Requirements
BS degree or equivalent experience in a food manufacturing environment At least 2+ years of QA experience in food production At least 3 years of prior supervisory experience Certification in a GFSI audit scheme and/or PCQI certification is preferred; must be able to obtain these certifications Must have a flexible schedule including working weekends, as necessary Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish is preferred Intermediate to advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and other software programs Ability to work in a team environment Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space Follows production dress code standards and maintains good personal hygiene Physical Requirements/Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to actively participate on the production floor Use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms Stoop, kneel or bend Lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and push/pull up to 45 pounds; is required to ask for assistance if weight is exceeded About Dessert Holdings
