Overview
POSITION: CHILDCARE CENTER SUBSTITUTES (ON CALL) LOCATIONS: Miami-Dade (Downtown Area - to cover 2 possible sites within 1 mile of each other with zipcode 33128) When: Monday thru Friday, 8 hours per shift, on call, as needed (can be as early as 7:30am shift, or 8:30am shift) Rate of Pay: $16.50 per hour *Requires DCF Childcare 45 training hours certification; and high school diploma DCF 45 hours childcare training required to be completed or waiting for competency exam only; High School diploma or GED required *Hired with an 18-month contingency; New employee MUST be willing to take CDA coursework paid by funder while employed as Substitute after Introductory period. Failure to continue and complete CDA coursework towards credential will not meet requirement for continuous permanent employment. Red Cross First Aid & CPR certificate; certificate of good health and completed TB test required; 15 hours in-service training annually thereafter; requires electronic fingerprinting - level 2 criminal background check, and drug test Schedule: Typically an 8 hour shift Day shift (last shift ends at 5:30pm) Monday to Friday only Education: High school or equivalent (Required) DCF childcare courses (45 hours) (required) Requirements DCF 45 hr. training certificates required; High School diploma or GED DCF 45 hours childcare training required to be completed or waiting for competency exam only; High School diploma or GED required Hired with an 18-month contingency; pipeline into regular job opportunities, MUST be willing to take CDA coursework paid by funder while employed as Substitute after Introductory period Responsibilities
Plan and implement individualized, developmentally appropriate, nurturing care for infants and toddlers in a center-based setting Coordinate use of community resources to enrich the learning environment Support program philosophy that parents are the primary educators and nurturers of their children Enhance the relationship of parents and their children by encouraging parent participation Oversee and assist with classroom cleanup and follow universal precautions daily Assist children in transitioning beginning and end of each day and during field trips Maintain program standards regarding confidentiality and professional boundaries
