Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Ecology & Evolution in the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Organismal Biology with a start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. Responsibilities
Teaching at the undergraduate level with an emphasis on active and inquiry-based learning. Primary teaching responsibility will be Principles of Biology II lecture (BIOL1108) and the accompanying lab (BIOL1108L), which emphasize evolution, ecology, organismal biology, data literacy, figure literacy, and the process of science. Collaboration with colleagues to continuously improve the undergraduate experience in the course and advance student's ability to succeed in the course and the biology program. Other teaching responsibilities may include other undergraduate biology and College of Science and Mathematics courses based on the needs of the department. Summer teaching is optional and based on the needs of the department. Professional service to the university, department, and/or discipline. Required Qualifications
A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Biology, Ecology, Evolutionary Biology or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire. Teaching experience in Biology or a related discipline (graduate teaching assistantships and secondary education teaching experience qualify). Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated success using evidence-based teaching practices at the university level. A record of teaching organismal, ecology, and/or evolutionary biology courses. Experience with developing and teaching online or hybrid courses that incorporate best practices in instructional design and student engagement. Experience coordinating multi-section courses. Experience mentoring undergraduate students.
